Mauricio Pochettino was last night spotted at Barcelona’s Mini Estadi.
With Tottenham taking advantage of a football calendar break to get some warmer weather training in, the club’s manager used the opportunity to watch some young talents.
The personal spying mission saw Pochettino see Barcelona beat Hertha Berlin 3-0 in the UEFA Youth League. Spurs have in the past been linked with La Masia products, and even come close to signings, so there’s a good chance the manager was looking at any future possibilities.
Ilaix, who Manchester City tried to sign recently before he penned a professional contract with Barcelona, scored the first goal. The other two came from 18 year old Alejandro Marqués.
He was born in Venezuela and moved to Spain at the age of 12. He represents Spain at U19 level, and according to Transfermakrt his contract expires in June.
