Three months ago, Patrick Dorgu’s agent revealed that Liverpool and Manchester City are among the clubs following the US Lecce youngster. The representative had also insisted the Reds want his client, who has also been on the Citizens’ radar.
Both Liverpool and Manchester City looked at the 18-year-old even before he made his first team debut with the Serie A side in August. He has six appearances this season and has established himself at the Serie A side, after impressing for their youth team last season.
Today’s Ekstra Bladet highlights this and also talks about reports linking the left-back to the Premier League duo and Barcelona.
The newspaper interviewed the defender, during which he was specifically asked about the rumours of interest from Liverpool, Pep Guardiola’s side and Barca.
“I really just take it as motivation, that when the big teams look at me, it is because I am doing the right thing and must continue. Then it’s just a matter of time before the big teams come knocking,” he said.
The Denmark U21 international’s comments indicate he’s ready to open the door for a transfer if Liverpool, Manchester City or any another top club were to make a serious approach for him.
Dorgu’s dream is to play for Chelsea, given he’s a fan of the club, but so far there’s been no signs of interest from the Blues.
