Matteo Darmian will officially be a Manchester United player only for a few more hours, if claims in Italy are to be believed.

Sport Mediaset report that Darmian is edging closer to completing a switch to Juventus, as has been the case for months. The fullback was spotted with his wife in Milan and he could have his medical with Juventus today.

The Italian international’s agent has already negotiated his client’s transfer to the Turin club. Darmian will sign a five-year deal and will earn €2.5 million-a-year (after tax) plus bonuses with the Serie A winners.

Manchester United signed Darmian from Torino for €18 million in 2015. Juventus will pay a transfer fee of €12m to bring the 28-year-old to the Allianz Stadium, according to today’s claims… and that’s in line with previous reports.

The Italian champions were chasing the player for a while and his ability to play as a left-back or right-back will give Massimo Allegri more options during team selection. Sport Mediaset claim it is now “only a matter of hours” before Darmian’s transfer from United to Juventus is made official.
