Burnley expect to announce Vincent Kompany as their new manage in ‘a matter of days’ and are ‘not worried’ about interest from elsewhere.
That’s according to Het Laatste Nieuws, who say the Clarets are ‘sure of their case’, and according to sources close to the club, a deal will be concluded sooner rather than later.
The newspaper reports that Burnley expect to announce Kompany as their new manager, and the fact it is taking a while has to do with work permit complications brought about by Brexit.
Indeed, Kompany has already drawn up a list of people he would like to add to his staff at Turf Moor.
That is likely to include some ‘old friends’, with Simon Davies and Craig Bellamy among those he would like to join him at his new club.
It is now just a question of getting the deal over the line, but there are no fears that it won’t happen, even amid interest from Nice.
They had tried to persuade the Belgian to join them, but Burnley are confident Kompany will be joining them.
