According to reports in the Italian media, Brescia could look to target Leeds United defender Gaetano Berardi in this transfer window.
The Lombardy club recently confirmed their return to Serie A after being crowned Serie B champions. Brescia is currently owned by former Leeds United chief Massimo Cellino, who’s managed to turn the club’s fortunes around in two seasons.
With the Italian side now back in the top flight they will be looking to bolster their squad for next season and Brescia Oggi, via TMW, report Berardi ‘can return’ to his former club this summer.
The 30 year old spent six seasons with there after coming through their youth system, making over 100 league appearances for them.
Berardi has come under scrutiny in the past week after picking up his seventh red card for Leeds United during the play off defeat to Derby Country.
There have also been concerns over his fitness after starting just ten games last season under Marcelo Bielsa.
The Swiss defender is contracted to the Elland Road club until June 2020.
