After focusing on Konstantinos Mitroglou, for whom Benfica want around €25m, Marseille have decided to relaunch an offensive to try and sign Leicester striker Islam Slimani.
Trying to get something done for the Greek goalscorer, the Ligue 1 side seem reluctant to go over the €18m they’ve already put forward, and that’s why they’ve turned once again to the Foxes man.
Of course, since they don’t want to spend over €20m on their new forward, getting Slimani could prove quite tricky, as L’Equipe report Leicester want somewhere in between €25-30m for the 27-year-old.
However, the French newspaper say there is a possibility of a loan, but that would require some serious negotiating from Andoni Zubizarreta, the Europa League side’s director of football.
Further complicating proceedings is the fact the player, unlike Riyad Mahrez, is currently on his way to Zambia with the Algeria national team ahead of his country’s World Cup qualifier.
One to follow closely.
