Marca continue with their Eden Hazard claims on Monday, having gone big on the story in their Sunday edition. Hazard is said to be keen on a move to Real Madrid, and on Sunday it was claimed the Belgian international is learning Spanish.

Monday’s claims centre around Chelsea’s role in the potentially huge transfer. It’s claimed Hazard came close to signing for Real Madrid last summer but Chelsea’s poor previous season made the club dead set against a transfer.

However, Marca say denying Hazard the move last year saw Chelsea also give him an assurance they would negotiate with Real Madrid this year, a kind of peace ‘pact’.

Chelsea’s Marina Granovskaia is said to be aware of the situation and that the promise Screen Shot 2017-03-27 at 08.23.50may mean she’s ‘forced’ into negotiating the player’s sale.

To convince Hazard to stay where he is, Marca say Roman Abramovich will put €200m on the table for new signings, showing how Chelsea can cement their place at the top of European football.

Monday’s claims on Hazard to Real Madrid don’t seem quite as strong as those on Sunday, and right now it looks like speculation piled on top of speculation.
