Jorginho has won the Champions League, Europa League and UEFA Super Cup since arriving at Chelsea from Napoli in 2018.
The midfielder had an important role under former Blues managers, Maurizio Sarri and Frank Lampard, and continues to be an integral part of the team under Thomas Tuchel.
Over the past few summer windows, the Brazil-born Italy international has continually been linked with a move back to Serie A, where Napoli and Juventus have been named as possible destinations.
Joao Santos, the 29-year-old’s representative, loves talking to the Italian media and does so regularly. More often than not, the chances of his client returning to Italy are brought up, giving the agent a chance to make hints about the future.
That’s what happened when the agent was invited as a guest on 1 Football Club. When quizzed about the player rejoining the Naples club, Santos instead talked about Chelsea’s desire to extend his client’s contract at Stamford Bridge.
“Never say never [to Jorginho returning to Napoli], because the market is very dynamic. [Chelsea director] Marina Granovskaia, however, has already let us know that she wants to renew his contract, so we’ll see what happens,” Santos said, as relayed by Area Napoli.
Jorginho’s current deal with Chelsea lasts until 2023, so there’s no rush for the Blues in that regard.
