On Monday we covered explanations from Germany that there’s still some annoyance from around St. Pauli towards Fabian Hürzeler.

The 31-year-old has headed off to manage Brighton & Hove Albion, and whilst it would be difficult to begrudge him such an amazing – and potentially life changing – opportunity, there was annoyance at how much his stance had changed.

Hürzeler had been big on encouraging St. Pauli’s squad not to let success distract them from the upcoming season in the Bundesliga, and then it was he who left.

Anyway, Tuesday’s edition of Bild reports goalkeeper coach Marco Knoop will ‘probably follow’ the manager to the Seagulls.

Monday’s reports suggested any move for Knoop would increase the bitterness, but now Bild are calmer with their approach and it’s considered a likely move.

There’s no suggestion of any compensation being payable for the 45-year-old so perhaps he had a contract which allows him to leave for free.

St. Pauli, meanwhile, are well into their search for a new manager.
