According to a claim in the Turkish media, Everton sporting director Marcel Brands travelled to Turkey yesterday to get a lowdown on Henry Onyekuru.

The youngster is currently on loan with Galatasaray from the Toffees where he’s impressed for much of the season with his goalscoring exploits.

Fantatik report Brands was in the stands last night to watch Galatasaray’s Europa League clash against Benfica, with the objective to watch Onyekuru. The Everton man reportedly watched the whole game and the player himself completed the full ninety minutes in his side’s 2-1 defeat.

It’s claimed Brands will now report back to Everton as they are considering keeping hold of him next season rather than loaning him out again.

However, it will depend if the Premier League club can get a work permit for the young attacker after failing in the past. This has led to Onyekuru being sent to Anderlecht on loan last season and now Galatasaray.

It’s likely the 21 year old will have a better chance of being granted a permit after becoming a permanent fixture in the Nigeria national squad.
