The first article in Friday’s edition of Marca was called “The keys of the ‘no’ to Paul Pogba”, saying Real Madrid are rejecting any chances of signing the Manchester United midfielder this summer.
The newspaper brings the entire love story between the Frenchman and the Galacticos, claiming he’s been eager to join the Santiago Bernabeu side since his departure from Juventus in 2016.
Manchester United’s huge offer is what stopped Real Madrid from making the signing at the time, but it’s said that Pogba’s wish to join the Spanish side has never changed. Things got bigger during José Mourinho’s time at the Red Devils, when the player started feeling that wasn’t the place for him.
Marca says there was the chance for the La Liga giants to sign Pogba last summer, but it collapsed for two reasons: first because the club were unable to make big sales, and also because during the transfer window, the board no longer felt a big desire to get the French star.
The newspaper says manager Zinedine Zidane is still a fan of Pogba and would like to have him in the squad. However, it’s claimed that Real Madrid’s board have already ‘ruled out’ the signing for the next transfer window, making it ‘impossible’ for Pogba to fulfil his wish.
Real Madrid are said to be focusing on other targets, while they also work to get rid of huge salaries, which would be the case of Paul Pogba.
