Isco James Rodriguez Marca August 30thSpanish newspaper Marca on Tuesday cover the potential exits of Isco and James Rodriguez. The transfer window closes on Wednesday and whilst exits for either would now appear to be unlikely, it’s still possible and of interest to Marca readers.

Over the weekend, claims from England of Tottenham interest in Isco led to the story being widely reported, and of course it didn’t escape the attention of Marca.

On Monday they covered the claims, but gave credit to The Mirror, not adding too much of their own. On Tuesday, The Mirror aren’t mentioned, but it’s unclear if that’s because Marca have received their own information, or because they’ve just decided to run away with the story.

Marca state that Mauricio Pochettino and Tottenham have been the last to ‘ask’ for Isco. It’s stated Spurs need a ‘plus’ to boost their Champions League campaign, and also to approach the rest of a very difficult Premier League season.

The Spanish newspaper say an Isco deal would be ‘difficult to close’, but they point out it’s still possible, the same for James Rodriguez and any interested clubs.

Both players are keen to stay, and Zinedine Zidane has recently been more impressed with Isco, but if a tempting enough offer comes in, Marca aren’t ruling anything out.

Maybe it could be a case of life imitating art and Tottenham being tempted by a deadline day signing which would thrill fans and leave Daniel Levy walking away as the victor.
