Last summer, when Tottenham Hotspur were looking for a new manager, Feyenoord boss Arne Slot was repeatedly reported as a candidate for the job.
The coach, who’s been in charge of the Eredivisie side since 2021, was even said to have snubbed Spurs to stay at his club.
As Slot was this week interviewed by Ziggo Sport, FR12 features some of his quotes about Tottenham’s interest.
While he was asked whether there was really a chance he could have taken charge of Spurs, the manager made it clear that’s not something he wants to talk about.
Tottenham were full of doubt about their new manager after the sacking of Antonio Conte in March 2023, having Cristian Stellini and Ryan Mason as caretaker managers until the end the season.
Postecoglou, who had been at Celtic, then took the job, and seems to have been worth the bet so far.
In 31 matches in charge of the team, he has 17 wins, five draws and nine defeats, with Spurs currently 5th in the Premier League.
Slot, meanwhile, isn’t doing badly either, and Feyenoord are second in the Eredivisie.
