During the last month’s transfer window, Gerard Deulofeu was linked with a move away from Watford.
In January, Tuttosport in Italy suggested that AC Milan are interested in re-signing the forward and Gazzetta dello Sport further went on to claim the 24-year-old wanted a move, but was not ready to upset the Hornets.
Unfortunately for the Spaniard (if he was keen), no deal took shape and he continued with Javi Gracia’s side, at least until the end of this season.
Journalist Alfredo Pedulla now reveals that ‘many teams’ wanted to secure the services of Deulofeu in the winter market, including clubs from the Serie A.
His decision to continue with the Premier League outfit is now ‘bearing fruit’ for Watford and Pedulla has made these claims after the attacker’s fine display in his side’s 5-1 win over Cardiff City on Friday.
Deulofeu scored a hat-trick, which is the first by a Watford player in the Premier League, and also registered one assist against Neil Warnock’s side.
So far, he has six goals and four assists to his name and if Deulofeu continues his impressive form, there could be clubs interested in signing him in the summer.
