Having lost Paul Pogba to a doping ban and Nicolò Fagioli to a betting ban, Juventus are a bit short of personnel in midfield these days, which is why they are linked with players for a January transfer.
One player who we haven’t seen yet, at least until Thursday, has been Arsenal’s Charlie Patino, currently on loan at Swansea.
AC Milan were linked with him recently, but it’s now Juventus who are being urged to sign the Gunners youngster by intermediary Michele Fratini, speaking to Rai Sport, relayed by Tutto Juve.
Asked about the recent performance of the Serie A side, he made it clear that the Turin side need to invest in their midfield going forward.
As for who he would recommend, it’s the Arsenal player: “A regista is needed because Juventus do not have the quality and someone who builds the game. It could be Charlie Patino of Arsenal, because he has great quality. There are many great teams on him.”
It’s fair to say the Gunners are firmly aware of the talent they have at their disposal, and while Mikel Arteta might have not deemed him ready to play for the first-team at the Emirates, he has shown at Swansea just why so many teams are interested.
The 20-year-old has four assists and a goal in 12 league games for the Championship this season, but will miss the next fixture after being sent off after 30 minutes in the 0-0 draw against Sunderland.
