Manchester United director Christopher Vivell was on a tour of Germany over the weekend, watching VfB Stuttgart and then former club RB Leipzig.
That’s according to BILD, who say the Manchester United director of professional football and scouting was in Germany and potentially keeping a close eye on striker Benjamin Sesko.
The newspaper reports that the 38-year-old was on a ‘tour of Germany’ over the weekend, first watching Leipzig take on Wolfsburg on Friday before watching Stuttgart against Bremen on Saturday.
His search for summer reinforcements is ‘in full swing’ and according to BILD’s information, he wanted to get a closer look at the young players in the Leipzig squad.
Vivell was technical director and squad planner at the German club from 2020 to 2022 and he is eyeing Benjamin Sesko ‘in particular’.
He’s allowed to leave Leipzig this summer and is considered a ‘certain departure’ by the club and Manchester United are keen on the Slovenian star. Vivell has known Sesko for a long time, having brought him to Salzburg as a 16-year-old.
He’s now a Leipzig ‘goalscoring force’ and has 19 goals in 40 games this season and all the big clubs in Europe want him.
Manchester United are among them, with their goalscoring problems well established, and Vivell has been in Germany recently to scout him and other Leipzig youngsters.
