With reports from the European media recently claiming Manchester United’s pursuit for Ajax star Antony is still on, we now get to see the the Brazilian press backing this up.
Journalist Jorge Nicola today features a video where he points out São Paulo may make some profit in the coming weeks with transfers related to their former players.
Those are Casemiro and Antony, both heavily linked with a switch to Manchester United.
Even though his story is mostly based on claims from Europe, he managed to get some information regarding the winger.
Nicola claims he managed to speak to a person ‘involved’ in the situation, and this source acknowledged that since Tuesday, the talks between Ajax and the Red Devils have been ‘resumed’.
It’s said the Dutch side demand €80m for the transfer.
Earlier this week, we’ve seen the Brazilian version of Goal also talking about this case.
They claimed that Manchester United are in no hurry to attempt this signing, since they believe Ajax will lower their requests in the final days of the transfer window.
