There’s no denying that this week has been quite tumultuous for Manchester United, their fans and the players who have to remain professional in front of the media following Cristiano Ronaldo’s interview with Piers Morgan.
The Portuguese forward has claimed the vast majority of headlines, but there appears to be a teammate of his who has decided he was going to one-up him by creating a huge controversy of his own.
That man is Anthony Elanga, who is currently with the Sweden national team in Malmö for a friendly against Algeria since they didn’t qualify for the World Cup.
This means he will likely have a bit of time to himself, and one of his aims is to get his hands on one of his favourite dishes.
Now, some of you might be forgiven in thinking he might be craving some Kroppkakor, which are big potato dumplings filled with meat, or a potential favourite from his childhood, Falukorv (beef and pork sausages), but no, that isn’t it.
The Manchester United winger revealed this to Fotbollskanalen, saying that returning to Malmö made him excited for a specific reason: “Malmö has the best kebab pizzas. I only eat kebab pizza when I come to Sweden. But when I normally come to Sweden, it’s with the national team and then I never have time to have a kebab pizza, so I hope to do it now.”
Asked whether he eats pizza in England, he simply replied: “They can’t bake pizza in England.”
As for his favourite kebab pizza restaurant, the Manchester United youngster said: “As long as it’s a good kebab, it doesn’t matter. I always ask my friends. The friends know.”
