Rumours from Brazil are saying that Manchester United are willing to sign the Fluminense midfielder Gustavo Scarpa in the next transfer window.
The information is claimed by journalist Edilson Silva, who works for Radio Bradesco Esportes and Band TV. He says the transfer could be done in June.
Manchester United would be ready to pay R$100m (£26m) for the 23-year-old, and the Brazilian side are said to be already aware of the interest.
The speculation isn’t being taken very seriously by the Fluminense fans, as journalists from Band aren’t always very reliable.
The amount also sounds a bit strange, since we find it unlikely that Manchester United would show they will pay such a rounded number in Brazilian reais.
Scarpa has been showing some great talent for Fluminense in the past few years and it’s just a matter of time until he goes to Europe. We’re also not sure if he’s quite playing at Manchester United’s level, though.
