As you’ll probably be aware by now, Kalidou Koulibaly is likely to leave Napoli in the summer transfer window.
The defender, who remains a key player at the Serie A club, is likely to be one of those that Aurelio De Laurentiis ships out in a rumoured overhaul of the squad and, naturally, plenty are interested.
We’ve covered numerous reports linking the centre back with the Premier League, with Manchester City and Manchester United consistently named as suitors.
The United links are nothing new as they’ve been linked to Koulibaly for years, but it now feels like there’s willingness on the Napoli side.
The last week alone has seen several reports that have stated Manchester United are ‘around the corner’ for the 28-year-old, and Napoli ‘won’t say no’ if an offer comes in from Old Trafford.
The interest is there and, according to journalist Fabio Santini, Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s side are about to turn it into something more concrete.
“As far as Kalidou Koulibaly is concerned, there is the growing interest of Manchester United in Senegalese,” he told 7 Gold, replayed by Arena Napoli.
“The English club would be willing to do crazy things for the defender.
“The Red Devils will soon present De Laurentiis with a strong offer for the player.”
