Diogo Dalot went on loan to AC Milan last season and was a useful squad player for the Rossoneri.

His success with the Serie A club has been overstated by some, and he was never first choice at either right-back or left-back. Despite that, he put together 1078 minutes in the league, 757 in the Europa League and 210 in the cup.

The 22-year-old was happy with his experience in Italian football, and it’s thought he’d be keen on a return to Milan. In turn, the club would be considering bringing him back, but only if they can find a good deal with Manchester United.

Tuesday’s edition of Tuttosport has a look at the situation, and they say Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants a replacement in at right-back before allowing Dalot to leave.

Manchester United want to be ‘sure’ that they’re signing Kieran Trippier, or another option at right-back, before giving Dalot the green light to leave the club.

Whilst links with the England international have been around for months, and are covered almost daily in the Spanish media, there’s not been a batch of links to other options in the position.

Tuttosport clearly believe Manchester United are insistent on a right-back, and it’s not purely a case of wanting to sign Trippier.
