Since Flamengo and Manchester United reportedly agreed a fee for the permanent transfer of Andreas Pereira, there had been a couple of reasons why the Brazilian club did not complete the move.
It was first claimed they were postponing the payment, and then said they’d wait until the Super Cup was played just so they wouldn’t risk missing him due to bureaucratic issues.
Well, it’s now been over ten days since that game and nothing has happened. And it turns out that outlet Globo Esporte comes up with a new reason for this delay.
According to their new story, Flamengo are going through a court case where the federal justice are blocking R$127m due to operations made between 1993 and 1998. So club president Rodolfo Landim ordered them to stop new signings for now.
Globo Esporte once again claims that Flamengo are signing Andreas Pereira from Manchester United in a €10m deal, already agreed, which will be paid in five instalments, and now wait until they can complete the move.
The Brazilian club, expect the legal issue sorted soon, being able to make the purchase before the end of his loan spell this summer.
Pereira, who’s not having a great start to the year, was once again booed by Flamengo fans last weekend, and has his permanent transfer very questioned by supporters and media lately.
