Having gone quiet for a week or so, Matteo Darmian’s future has returned with a bang, as Calciomercato claim the Italian defender is closer than ever to a move to Juventus.

Picking up his last start for Manchester United towards the end of January in a 4-0 away win to Yeovil Town, the former Torino star is, as has been the case for a while, very keen on returning to his home country, and the Serie A leaders are ready to provide him a home.

In fact, Calciomercato report Darmian has already said yes to Juventus, impressed by everything the club had to offer, including a contract.

However, despite all of this, the deal isn’t yet done, as Manchester United still haven’t received an offer, primarily due to the fact the Italian side are waiting to see what happens with the likes of Kwadwo Asamoah (whose contract runs out at the end of the season) and Stephan Lichsteiner.

Juventus are also said to have approached a number of other full-backs, including Hector Bellerin, but the general consensus is they’ll fall back on the Matteo Darmian option soon enough, who is helped by his versatility.
