AmkSpor report Fenerbahçe have made an official bid for Memphis Depay and Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho will allow him to join the Turkish side. Depay has found it difficult to get games for Manchester United since Mourinho came in, and may need to go out on loan in January.
Jose Mourinho’s words about potential January outgoings at Manchester United reportedly pleased Fenerbahçe after Mourinho made it clear he wasn’t going to keep bit-part players against their will.
The newspaper also say Fenerbahçe’s boss Dick Advocaat is unhappy with Volkan Şen’s recent performances and has told the board that signing Depay would be excellent business. The two Dutchmen worked together at PSV, and Depay announced himself to the football world whilst playing under Advocaat.
It’s also worth noting that Fenerbahçe only have €2.5m to spend in January because of Financial Fair Play. The Turkish giants offer to Manchester United is likely to be a loan deal, and if the move materialises Depay will become the 4th Dutch player on Fenerbahçe’s books.
Everton and Spartak Moscow have also been linked with Depay over the past week.
