Manchester United target João Neves “has everything” and could prove to be a major success at Old Trafford if they can get a deal over the line for him.

That’s according to ‘transfer market specialist’ Guilherme von Cüpper, who has hailed the midfielder today as Manchester United seemingly step up their efforts to try and get him.

A report yesterday indicated Manchester United had made a €70m bid for the midfielder and was today backed up by Record.

The latter explained that Manchester United are one of the sharks circling the highly rated youngster at this moment in time and haven’t given up their efforts since seeing a previous €60m bid rejected earlier this year.

They’ve ‘returned to the charge’ with a new, fresh proposal worth €70m, although that was accompanied by a warning that it would be their last offer for him.

The ball is currently in Benfica’s court, although they, led by Rui Costa, have continued to demand that they want any interested clubs to pay €120m, the value of the release clause in the midfielder’s current contract.

Whether Manchester United will go those high remains to be seen, although Record insist €70m is their upper limit and they’ve made that clear to Benfica.

Von Cüpper has suggested that may be a mistake, though, as Never has everything in his locker to be a star man for United.

“England has the right championship for João Neves. Portuguese midfielders have always demonstrated their ability to do so,” he said.

“João Neves, with the quality he has, especially in a team like Manchester United, which needs players with his characteristics, a calm, calm player, very good at progressing with the ball, with a lot of clarity of decision and clarity of thought. In my opinion, he has everything he needs to become one of Manchester United’s key players.

“Like Darwin or Enzo Fernández, players who didn’t perform as much”, he considers, guaranteeing: “João Neves can have an even greater impact than they had.

“He would fit very well into a team like United, he would have every opportunity to grab a place and assert himself, reinforcing Manchester United with his clarity of ideas and his simplicity of processes.”
