Zlatan Ibrahimovic has made an instant impact at Manchester United, scoring five goals in five games up to this point.

However, he isn’t the only big name signing Manchester United made this summer. French star Paul Pogba signed for a world record transfer fee, and that has been a big talking point.

Ibrahimovic has been speaking to French TV channel SFR Sport (via Le 10 Sport), and was asked about Pogba.

He said:”Paul came from a generation that is becoming important in France. The national team did not win the Euros, unfortunately, but the generation is strong and they will become stronger and Paul is one of them, and with what he has done, he will become even better.”

The Swedish star believes Pogba will only get better in the future, and that all the ‘jealous people’ are will be forced to ‘swallow every words’ they said about him in the past.

Ibrahimovic added: “I did not know Paul before and now I know him personally, he is a boy who works hard, he wants to progress and has a good attitude, but he is still young and all the jealous people talking about him will swallow every word they said about him. Because he will only get better.”

Pogba would be delighted by the words of encouragement from his teammate. The former Juventus midfielder has started off well this season, and will be hoping to make a bigger impact soon.

In France, the audience which Ibrahimovic’s words were meant for, Pogba gets a lot of criticism and doubts. People think he’s a good player, even a very good player, but they want to see more to justify the hype around him.
