It’s fair to say there have been doubts recently about Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Manchester United. A few crucial misses were highlighted and the former PSG player wasn’t directly slammed but there were certainly insinuations he hasn’t lived up to expectations.

Ibrahimovic himself has been going about proving that he very much has lived up to expectations. Two goals against Tony Pulis’ West Brom at the weekend took Manchester United to victory and Ibrahimovic is on a good goalscoring run.

Gazzetta dello Sport believe Ibrahimovic in among the best eleven for the weekend’s performances. Each week the grand old Italian sport newspaper pick a selection of the best performers outside Serie A, and Zlatan made his way in.

Jose Mourinho will be thrilled with the player’s recent impact, and that’s a feeling shared by the Swedish media who covered Ibrahimovic’s brace against West Brom widely.

Ibrahimovic is second only to Alexis Sanchez and Diego Costa on Premier League goals scored so far this season, which is quite an achievement given he’s 35 years of age.

Manchester United and Mourinho have become reliant on the former Sweden international, and his fitness will have to be carefully managed over the rest of the season.
