England will be disappointed after losing their 2 goal lead against Spain on Tuesday night.
Gareth Southgate’s men were easily the better side during the first half of the match, but tiredness and complacency appeared to let Spain back into the match and turn what looked to be a promising victory into a regretful draw.
Manchester United’s Juan Mata started the match for Spain and Marca reckon he had something of a stinker. Mata is one of four Spain players to get a – rating from Marca, with the others being Inigo Martinez, Vitolo, Thiago and Aritz Aduriz.
The Spanish newspaper say Mata ‘barely intervened in the game’, and they clearly don’t think he made enough of an impact in a first half where Spain looked generally poor.
Another Spanish newspaper, AS, also gave Mata a blank mark, and they feel most of Spain’s team were poor, with England the far superior team.
In disagreement, Mundo Deportivo rated Mata as 5/10, better than five of his teammates.
