Last week, SportBild stated Manchester United have asked RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo about his future plans, and that he was inclined towards changing clubs in the summer window.
The Spain international, who can operate on both wings and as an attacking midfielder, has eight goals and five assists from 22 games this season.
Mundo Deportivo claim Manchester United are one of the clubs in the picture to sign the 25-year-old.
Earlier this week, Olmo’s father Miguel, and his agents, Juanma López and Andy Bara, met Barcelona sporting director Deco, and there was good harmony between the parties after the meeting.
The La Liga side are serious about bringing the former academy player back to the club and he’s considered a priority target for next season. His versatility is another factor that makes him attractive to the Catalan club.
Olmo has a €60m clause and Leipzig aren’t going to lower the price, which Deco is aware of. This is an obstacle for the Spanish giants, who have to find a way to convince the German club.
The player doesn’t seem to be pleased with Leipzig’s project. Olmo is open to leaving and hasn’t closed the door on ‘studying interesting offers’.
The newspaper adds Barcelona aren’t the only club in the transfer race and this is when Manchester United are mentioned.
There’s been talk of Manchester City, but Mundo state the team that has ‘shown serious interest’ is Manchester United. In addition to this, an unnamed English club and Bayern Munich also have the attacker on their agenda.
The Red Devils could complicate Barca’s efforts to sign the Leipzig star.
