Some days ago, Manchester United were linked with a move for Inter Milan youngster Francesco Pio Esposito.

The striker is currently on loan at Serie B side Spezia, where he is spending his second consecutive season in an attempt to further his development. He’s scored nine goals so far in the second division of Italian football.

FCInterNews08 have now reported on Esposito’s future and they seem sure Manchester United will have to wait for some months to land the 19-year-old and the move definitely won’t happen in January.

They state that while the Red Devils are ‘serious’ for the talent, Inter have no intention of letting him leave this month and it’ll be €30m+ in the summer and only after July.

That is because Inter are keen on using Esposito at the Club World Cup, which takes place in the summer. Marko Arnautovic and Joaquin Correa are currently available, but their contracts run out at the end of June.

This will leave Inter short in the striker’s department and is why they want to keep Esposito for the Club World Cup. The tournament is seen as an opportunity for the talent to impress for his club or make a mark for potential suitors like Manchester United.

As of now, Ruben Amorim’s side will have to wait and see how things turn out.
