Over the past several weeks, Manchester United are named as one of the contenders to sign Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies.
The left-back’s deal expires in 2025, and Real Madrid have been pushed forward as his next possible destination.
Last month, AS reported the 24-year-old is not a priority target for the La Liga side. It was also stated Manchester United are bidding hard for him, and his agent is at work to find the best possible deal.
Bild journalist Christian Falk now took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share the latest on Manchester United.
He claims the Canada international is demanding €16m [potentially net] per year in wages and a signing on bonus of €15m. At this point in time, the Bundesliga giants haven’t met the fullback’s demands.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are said to be laying the groundwork to start negotiations to sign him for free next summer.
According to Falk, the Red Devils have asked the Canadian and his agent for a meeting in January.
Ruben Amorim’s side will be free to negotiate a pre-contract with Davies if Bayern fail to tie him down to a new deal before the end of this month.
The finances involved, though, look rather on the greedy side.
