Manchester United are one of the clubs showing interest in IFK Göteborg youngster Malick Junior Yalcouyé, according to reports from Sweden.
Outlet Expresen writes that the Red Devils, as well as Bayern Munich, are scouting the 18-year-old in a match against Mjällby tonight.
The interest from Manchester United and other European clubs is creating high hopes at the Swedish side, who now aim to make a transfer record with his sale.
Göteborg’s biggest transfer had been Benjamin Nygren, who left for SEK50m (£3.68m) in 2019. Now they want to double it with SEK100m (£7.36m).
Technical director Ola Larsson recently spoke to the local media about Yalcouyé, and admitted they’ll need to sell him if the bids arrive.
“Oh my God, yes. All those clubs are there all the time. I always think he is our best player. I think he is completely superior and I also think he always has another level in his body. If it would then be a top-five league, who knows?
“If we receive an offer that we cannot refuse – then we will sell.”
The youngster only has 12 appearances for the first team, but it seems that was more than enough to tempt with a big transfer out of Sweden.
