Over the past couple of weeks or so, Manchester United have been linked with the possibility of signing Victor Osimhen in a swap plus cash deal.

This was initially reported by Calciomercato, who stated that Rasmus Højlund could be offered to Napoli as part of the deal, with Ruben Amorim not happy with the striker’s performances.

Journalist Luca Cerchione has now spoken to 1 Station Radio in Italy about the potential deal which can bring Osimhen to Manchester United.

He came across as rather positive, sharing the amount of added cash he feels could convince Napoli.

Cerchione said, as relayed by TuttoJuve: “Keep an eye on the Rasmus Højlund trail, which was reported to me last week.”

“United have proposed Højlund to Napoli as part of the deal that could bring Victor Osimhen to Manchester United. In order for Osimhen’s price tag to drop, they will also talk about Højlund, who Conte likes a lot. We’ll see, we’ll follow this lead.”

Speaking further, the journalist said: 40m, plus Højlund, would be a deal in favour of Napoli.”

The Dane has scored only two goals in the Premier League this season and has not looked confident in front of goal, having faced fresh criticism after the Red Devils’ 1-1 draw against Arsenal.

Having said that, the club spent a hefty amount on signing him from Atalanta and he did score over 15 times in all competitions last season.

A big decision to make for Manchester United, who will have to get it right.
