Kingsley Coman is threatening to become a new David Alaba at Bayern Munich, and Manchester United are ready to take advantage of it.
That’s according to SportBILD, who say United are willing to give the Frenchman the wages he wants from the Bundesliga champions.
The newspaper explains that Coman ‘threatens a new case of David Alaba’ at the club as his financial demands are too high for their liking.
That was the case with Alaba, who is expected to move to Real Madrid on a free transfer this summer after Bayern ended negotiations over a new deal.
What that means isn’t made clear, but we’re reading it as Coman earns around €12m a year gross at Bayern, and that figure falls when it comes to his net income.
He probably doesn’t like that and wants it the other way, and Manchester United are offering him a deal that would see him pick up close to €12m net after taxes and other deductions.
At the moment, it is not much of an issue for Bayern as Coman has a deal until 2023, so ‘there is still time’ for them to work something out with him.
However, a ‘dissatisfied winger’ could be a problem for new coach Julian Nagelsmann, and that is seemingly opening the door to a transfer this summer.
SportBILD ultimately present it as a situation to keep an eye on more than anything, with United seemingly ready to dig deep and give Coman what he wants if he decides he wants out.
