Manchester United’s chase for Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa gets a new mention in the Portuguese media today.

The news this time comes from newspaper Record, who features a story about the 23-year-old possibly having the best season of his career stats wise.

Costa had 22 goals conceded and 15 clean sheets in 33 appearances in 2021/22. Now he has those very same stats with one game to go, so that’s a chance of improving that record.

The outlet also includes a paragraph on his future, claiming that now that he’s ‘proven’, he’s expected to be one of the most disputed signings in the transfer window.

That’s where Manchester United are brought in, with Record saying the Red Devils are the ‘most repeatedly interested’ in Costa.

Porto are in need of making money before the 30th of June, and it’s Jorge Mendes who’s handling the situation of the goalkeeper, who’s protected by a €75m release clause.

Manchester United, however, aren’t alone in that race, with Record pointing out that the likes of Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur have also been recently linked to him in the past few weeks.
