Manchester United are ready to up their bid for Jadon Sancho as they push to sign the forward from Borussia Dortmund.

That’s according to Foot Mercato, who cover the situation after reports that United have made their first official bid for the England star. It’s slightly unusual this is coming from a French website, however, it’s partly credited to Dahbia Hattabi, a well known and respected journalist.

BILD sent the Sancho story into overdrive earlier today as they reported that Manchester United had made their first official bid for him this summer.

That bid, of around €70m, isn’t enough for the Bundesliga side, who are keen to make upwards of €90m on one of their prized assets.

Whether Manchester United will go that high remains to be seen but FM state that, according to their information at least, that they are ‘ready to increase their offer’ for him.

What price they are willing to go in their second bid isn’t mentioned, but we’ll hazard a guess it will be below what Dortmund are looking for as the two sides work to meet in the middle.

Either way, the fact United are willing to increase their bid is a positive, although this is likely to drag on for a while yet before reaching any sort of positive conclusion.

One positive, according to FM, is that Manchester United already have an agreement in place with Sancho, with the website stating that according to their information, the player has an agreement on his wages and agent commissions.

That’s a hurdle out of the way, so now all we have to do is sit and watch as the two haggle over the price.
