Alex Telles to Manchester United isn’t looking likely to happen, report O Jogo in their Saturday edition.

The fullback is now closer to staying at FC Porto than he is to leaving, with the Premier League club failing to come up with a proposal which pleases the club. As time goes on, it will be ‘increasingly difficult’ to convince Porto, because they’d need the opportunity to bring in a replacement.

O Jogo state that with Telles playing against Maritimo today, that only gives Sunday and Monday for a deal to be done. This complicates things, and it’s stated that at this stage of the window it really has to be €20m or nothing for the Portuguese side.

Sérgio Conceição sees the Brazilian as one of the most important players on his team, so is keen to keep him beyond the current window. Despite Telles’ contract expiring in less than a year there doesn’t appear a desperation to sell him, especially for a vastly reduced fee.

To change the situation, Manchester United will need to make a reasonable proposal soon, with the danger being that if they leave it much longer even €20m, or close to it, wouldn’t be enough to convince Porto.
