For many avid football fans out there, the name Ísak Bergmann Jóhannesson will mean something to you, as the Iceland international is widely seen as an up and coming talent.
Highly rated in a multitude of video games, the 17-year-old is also showcasing his talent in real life, already counting four goals and 12 assists in 33 games for IFK Nörkkoping’s first-team in Sweden at a young age.
These performances have caught the eye of many scouts, including those of Manchester United, according to FC Inter 1908.
The Italian website mention this as part of an article claiming Inter are also keen on the young midfielder, having ‘already seen some matches’ and ‘will continue to follow him in the coming months’.
That’s when Manchester United are brought in, as FC Inter 1908 explain there are ‘already many European clubs’ after Jóhannesson, including the Red Devils and Juventus.
While a move to Italy could certainly be good for a youngster, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men have an advantage, and that’s the fact the player dreams of playing at Old Trafford.
Back in October, Jóhannesson admitted in an interview that Manchester United were his ‘favourite team’, recalling that he lived in the city when his father, Joey Gudjónsson, was a footballer in England.
One to keep an eye on, but with the Old Trafford club focused on talented youth, it certainly isn’t a surprise to see them keeping tabs on the player.
