Manchester United are ‘pushing’ to sign Bundesliga full-back David Raum and the player can imagine the move to Old Trafford.

That’s according to Sky Sports Germany and journalist Florian Plettenberg, who say Manchester United will, however, need to convince the defender’s agents.

They explain that Raum has played his way into the sights of numerous top teams with his performances last season, and the ‘strongest competition’ is coming from the Premier League.

“Manchester United are pushing,” Plettenberg tells them.

“We hear: A transfer to Manchester United can happen, (but) I don’t think it will happen so quickly because there is still Borussia Dortmund.”

According to Sky, the two parties are still ‘far away’ from an agreement, and a medical has not been booked in as yet, to emphasise that. First talks, though, have taken place, and Raum can ‘imagine a transfer’ to Manchester United.

Dortmund are also keen, and his management would prefer him to make that move as it is a ‘highly interesting address’ for players.

However, with Nico Shulz and Raphael Guerreiro still at the club, a move is unlikely for the time being.

That can always change, of course, but it gives Manchester United a chance to get their man in a deal that would require €30-35m.
