Manchester United have intensified their efforts to sign Sporting’s Geovany Quenda.
The Red Devils took Ruben Amorim from Sporting and want to return to the Portuguese club for Quenda.
That’s according to Monday’s edition of A Bola, who state Manchester United have stepped up their interest in the 17-yer-old, after making initial contact in October.
Earlier this season, Amorim promoted the winger to Sporting’s first team and used him as a right wing-back. He made 19 appearances in all competitions, managing two goals and two assists in the process.
The manager reportedly wants to reunite with the youngster at Old Trafford and the Premier League side are ready to fulfil his wish.
It’s claimed Manchester United are ‘preparing an offer’ of €60m plus bonuses for Quenda to arrive at the club next summer. He turns 18 years of age in April 2025 and won’t be able to move to the UK before then.
Back in September, Quenda signed a new contract until 2027 and with that his clause has increased from €45m to €100m. Despite this, A Bola say Sporting are open to negotiating a deal with Manchester United for €60m plus bonuses.
With the clubs open to doing business, there’s a feeling they can come to an agreement for Quenda’s sale.
