The Victor Lindelof saga is definitely back. After months of silence, with a few teases here and there, the Manchester United chase is now set to return to its tracks, this time to be done for good.

Portuguese newspaper A Bola comes up with a story today saying the Red Devils will make an attempt to ‘finally’ get the player in the next few weeks, in something they call the ‘final assault’.
In the last day of the January transfer window, José Mourinho allegedly tried to sign the defender for €30m, but Benfica were focused on winning the league title and decided not to sell.
After winning the league and the cup, the defender now has two matches to play for Sweden, one against France on June 9th and another against Norway on June 13th. The newspaper says that Manchester United’s intention is to have him signed before the conclusion of those matches.
If it isn’t done by then, don’t worry, the Portuguese press will think of a new date.
Even though other clubs such as Inter Milan and Roma have been linked, they don’t have the same financial resources as Manchester United. Benfica would also rather sell him to the Red Devils, because the ‘payment conditions are more attractive’.
There’s still the chance Manchester United goalkeeper Joel Pereira could be included in the deal. But as the youngster recently reiterated his will to stay at the club, Benfica are not very hopeful and even removed him from the top of the list of targets to replace Ederson.
