Matteo Darmian’s return to Italy is set to become a big story of the winter transfer market.

Already today we’ve already covered reports from Italy which linked the player both to Inter Milan and Juventus. Now the Spanish outlet Marca has their take, and says that the player’s departure is very possible.

They describe the right-back’s relationship with José Mourinho as “completely broken” so this could mean a transfer out of the club.

Marca mentions the possibility of a loan to Juventus in January with an option to buy. Manchester United would be demanding €20m for a permanent transfer, but the Old Lady are not keen on paying that much, which for Marca makes the other option more likely.

Darmian signed for Manchester United from Torino for €19m in 2015. He played 39 games in his debut season for the Red Devils, starting off excellently but then fading as the season grew older. He’s still to make an official appearance under José Mourinho.
