As Catalan outlet Mundo Deportivo writes about the future of Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembélé today, Manchester United continue to be pointed out as one of the main candidates for his signing.

The newspaper’s report is about the player’s contract situation, since his current deal expires in 2022, so he could soon have his future in his own hands.

Barcelona don’t want to lose him for free and already opened talks for a renewal, although there’s not a big rush from Dembélé’s staff for it.

It’s claimed that his representatives are also in touch with clubs who are interested in his move, such as Manchester United, who have ‘have ‘positioned themselves’ to make his signing when the January window opens, on a loan or a permanent deal.

However, the Red Devils are not alone in the race, since other clubs from the Premier League and Serie A are interested as well.

So despite Barcelona’s plans for a renewal, they know they can’t lose Dembélé for free, and are telling the club’s new board, which takes charge in January, that good offers for him should be considered.

It isn’t said how much the Catalan side would demand for him, as he’s only described as a ‘valuable’ asset. The Frenchman has four goals and two assists this season, and seems to be having a good recovery at the club under Ronald Koeman.
