In surprising news from the Brazilian media, Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira is linked with a move to Crystal Palace.

The news comes from outlet Extra, who feature a story about the player ‘throwing in the towel’ and giving up on his chances of staying at Flamengo, where he’s loaned until June 30th.

It’s said the Rio de Janeiro club did not make any new moves to sign Pereira on a permanent deal, so he’s set to have his farewell match this week and then move back to Europe.

Extra then point out the recent claims saying Fulham have agreed a deal with Manchester United for the transfer, and then bring the information about Crystal Palace.

Extra claims that Andreas’s staff ‘consulted information about Crystal Palace’. That’s all they say, pointing out that John Textor, who’s a shareholder at the Selhurst Park side, also owns Flamengo’s local rivals Botafogo.

It all makes it sound like the player’s agents have offered the midfielder to the London club, even though the outcome of this effort isn’t explained.

For now, most of the Brazilian media believe he’s going to Fulham, who made a €10m offer for his signing.
