As you might have heard prior to the Manchester United-Liverpool game, Éric Bailly is now likely to head to Marseille.
The defender hasn’t been used by Erik ten Hag to date, and there was a feeling his time at Old Trafford was going to end sooner rather than later.
Marseille in France have been after him for quite some time, and it appears they have got their man.
La Provence, the city’s local newspaper, made it clear on Monday that everything was heading in the right direction, and provide an update on Tuesday.
They state there is a ‘total agreement’ between Manchester United and Marseille for the player’s transfer, who will arrive on loan with an obligation to buy should certain criteria be met (number of appearances and qualification for the Champions League).
As for Bailly, the newspaper explain he will ‘say goodbye to his teammates today’ and will head to the south of France ‘tonight or tomorrow morning’.
Regarding the amount of money Manchester United could make, that is believed to be between €6-7m, should Marseille trigger that option by meeting the demands.
