Having already spoken out about his future, it seems fairly certain that Andreas Pereira, who never found regular football at Lazio, will return to Manchester United.

The Brazil international was sent to Italy in order to get the minutes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wouldn’t be able to give him under his belt, but his versatility, normally a great positive, never helped him out under Simeone Inzaghi.

Add to that the expensive purchase clause in the deal, and it would have taken some fantastic form for Igli Tare and Claudio Lotito to consider keeping him beyond the current campaign, and since that didn’t happen, the midfielder will be Manchester United’s problem this summer.

This is what Corriere dello Sport are stating, making it clear that Pereira ‘will return’ to the Old Trafford club, having already ‘anticipated’ an exit in the past few days.

It remains unlikely that Solskjaer will have changed his mind about the midfielder over the past year, especially since he couldn’t establish himself at Lazio, and with a contract in the North West until 2023, a new loan could be organised.

Either that, or he gets sold for good, but he would need a club willing to take a calculated gamble at this point.
