Timothy Fosu-Mensah is one the verge of a move to Hertha Berlin, according to claims coming from Germany on Saturday evening.

Sky Deutschland journalist Sven Tollner sent out a tweet saying that, according to their own information, the Manchester United player is set to move to Hertha Berlin on loan.

There’s no information regarding the period of the 20 year old’s loan or anything about a loan fee or conditions that Fosu-Mensah players.

It’s likely Manchester United have tried to get assurances over game time, in much the same way they did with Joel Pereira last week.

Sporting were keen on loaning the goalkeeper but wouldn’t give guarantees over game time and that led the Premier League club to look elsewhere.

Jose Mourinho got involved personally and Pereira ended up signing for the manager’s home town club Vitoria Setubal.

Sky Deutschland believe Fosu-Mensah will give Hertha Berlin flexible options in defence.
