Since Manchester United came from behind to beat Manchester City 3-2 at the Etihad in April 2018, Pep Guardiola has seen has side suffer only two league defeats at home… until the Red Devils came to visit on Saturday.

Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial goals in the first half were sufficient for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side to clinch a 2-1 victory over City.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka was outstanding for the visitors and was successful in containing City star Raheem Sterling. The former Crystal Palace right-back’s performances saw him being voted by fans as their Man of the Match against City.

Former United midfielder Darren Fletcher has heaped praise on the 22-year-old, but also suggested working on certain aspects can help him to further enhance his game.

“He loves to defend himself. It’s refreshing to see, but he has to get better with the ball. Hopefully he is working on receiving and passing in training. I don’t see for myself that he’s going to be an attacking fullback who storms ahead,” Fletcher told Norway’s TV2.

“I was talking to some Manchester United players, and they were saying that no player has managed to pass Wan-Bissaka in training this season.”

“It’s as if he refuses to let them pass. He has to get better technically, but he is a fantastic fullback. When he gets better technically, he’s going to take his game to a new level. He is a fantastic defensive player and contributor for Manchester United.”
