Joshua Zirkzee’s move to Manchester United from Bologna took off with the Dutchman’s goal against Fulham on his debut.
He hasn’t scored since then but the striker has put in some reasonable performances. He’s shown glimpses of his abilities, leading to a little hype building.
Despite the big money move to Old Trafford though, Zirkzee hasn’t forgotten about where he played his best football and that came at Bologna last season.
The Rossoblu are in England for their huge Champions League clash against Liverpool and Zirkzee met the players on Tuesday evening.
Gazzetta dello Sport report today that the Dutchman went to Liverpool to meet some Bologna stars that he knows from his time at the club and spent ‘an hour chatting’ with them. He was there in the city until about 10:30pm.
It was Zirkzee himself who had put forward the idea of the meet up, having sought permission from Manchester United for it. The club gave the permission, with the meeting described as a ‘heartfelt’ one.
