Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero has ‘several offers’ from clubs around the world should he look to leave the club in the near future.
The Argentine is currently number two to David de Gea in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad, having to content himself with regular starting roles in the Europa League.
And while he’s had a good time of it in that competition so far, keeping a clean sheet in both of United’s games in the competition, the 32-year-old is unlikely to be happy with such limited game time.
He is seemingly considering a move elsewhere and, according to Argentina’s El Intransigente, has ‘several offers’ from across the globe to fulfil that desire.
A move to MLS has been mooted for several months, with David Beckham’s Inter Miami reportedly already in contact, but that’s not Romero’s only possible destination.
Independiente de Avellaneda are keen on bringing him back to Argentina, in what the website says would be a ‘triumphant return’ to his homeland.
The Manchester United goalkeeper is also ‘loved’ in Mexico and has already received five offers from various clubs over there too. One of those, Tigres, is said to have ‘turned his attention’, suggesting he would be interested in such a move.
For now, his focus is on Manchester United, but with so many potential offers, it seems possible he may push for a move sooner rather than later.
His current deal at Old Trafford doesn’t expire until 2021 meaning all the power is in the club’s hands regardless.
